What is Quebec skilled worker program?

There are several types of Visa categories for Quebec. The most common and the one which is applicable to people who stay outside Canada is the Quebec skilled worker program. You should also know this one of the many Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) offered by Canada.

Under the Canada-Quebec Accord on Immigration, Quebec establishes its own immigration requirements and selects immigrants who will adapt well to living in Quebec.
If you want to go to Quebec as a skilled worker, you must first follow a separate selection process before your application is finalised by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. To learn about that province’s requirements, visit Quebec’s immigration website.

Quebec-selected skilled workers: Who can apply.

First Stage: 


To get a Quebec Selection Certificate as a Skilled Worker / Professional applicants must score enough points under the Quebec Immigration selection system below. A single applicant must score at least 49 points based on the parameters  below. An applicant with who is married or common-law/conjugal partner must score at least 57 points.
 
Quebec-selected skilled workers must apply in two stages.
You must first apply to the Quebec government for a certificate of selection (Certificat de sélection du Québec). This is the official document that shows that the Government of Quebec has accepted you to that province. You points will be calculated based on your:

You may get up to an additional 6 points may be awarded upon the interview for Adaptability. With these points awarded, a single applicant must score a minimum of 55 points. An applicant with a spouse or common-law/conjugal partner must score at least 63 points (required final points). 

 Second Stage:

After you have been selected by Quebec, you have to make a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residence.You will have to have a medical exam and obtain a police certificate. CIC conducts these checks for all immigrants, wherever they intend to move in Canada.You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada.Quebec-selected skilled workers are not assessed on the six selection factors of the Federal Skilled Workers Program.


Final Stage:

Quebec Skilled Worker / Professional applicants must then successfully complete medical and security examinations conducted by the Canadian government in order to be granted a Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa.

Quebec Skilled Workers / Professionals are not assessed based upon the selection factors of the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Citizenship and Immigration Canada acknowledges the selection of applicants who meet Quebec immigration selection criteria.
