 Quebec Area of Training

The Ministère prioritizes the processing of immigration applications filed by skilled worker candidates with diplomas in areas of training that, in Québec, show good prospects for professional integration. These are the areas of training that get 12 or 16 points in the 2009 List of areas of training (PDF, 224 Kb).

If your applying for Skilled Workers  category, For claiming this points for the Area of Training your education is completed, the applicant must have earned a diploma or degree in areas which meet Quebec labor market requirements.

The diploma or degree must more than 5 years old previous to applying for Quebec immigration. If this is not the case, the applicant must have worked for at least one year out of the five years in a field directly related to the diploma or degree obtained.





Lets say you have B.com Degree and your working for call center executive which is not relevant to your degree. If you degree is less than 5 years old it's is acceptable or at-least you have worked one in this 5 years time in  related profile. 


Applicants with backgrounds in some of the Areas of Training may receive priority processing. If your education is in following list of Areas. You would receive some priority in your application process. However it was also said your using a third party to file your visa you might not receive this priority treatment.

2. Chemistry (Bach. - 3 years)
3. Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering (Bach. - 4 years)
4. Probability and Statistics (Bach. - 3 years)
5. Nursing (Bach. - 3 years)
